Distance 125 km
Along the 4014
Because I am staying down low level today I have to accept it will be more smoky where I will be riding
The 4014 is a well surfaced twisty road
Looking over the Myanmar border and it looks even worse pollution
A village in Myanmar just on the other side of the Moei river
No one seemed to be paying any attention to the sign
Very fast flowing and quite deep in places
She was continually changing position for photos
I watched one bike cross the river
Lots of bikes arriving at the river as I ride out
An unknown reservoir further on
This one was only about one metre down from capacity
At Ban Walae and the old bridge that I have walked over and into Myanmar many times over the years
Its had lots of pieces of timber added to hold it together since I was last here four years ago
More water than I was expecting to see here
Just over the bridge
Each sack is fifty kg
The boys take one each
Youngster is happy just carrying a bag of crisps
The new bridge and to my amazement for the first time ever I am asked if I want to walk across and look around Myanmar, usually its a big no no and the old bridge has to be used to get in
Everyone wants to be in the water today, it is rather hot here
Even the dogs have just got out of the water
Now to enjoy a different twisty road as I ride back
Here its looking a bit clearer
Chicken tikka masala and rice at Bismillah 250 Baht
