Chicken from the sunday market and fries from Intira 145 Baht
No severed limbs or blood in the upturned cab so I guess the driver had a lucky escape
Closer to Mae Sariang and this wasn't here yesterday afternoon
The Mae Chaem river close to the 108 and not much if any more water here then when I rode over the suspension bridge, I guess its tributaries have all dried up
Easier riding now and I am relieved to reach the 1088
The reason why not so many tracks running over these hills
Further upstream and still people in the water
It seems everyone is playing in the river today
Another bridge crosses the river but I have no desire to try it out
Quite a fast current
That was a wonky old bridge
As I near the suspension bridge I see a new concrete one being built ready for the coming wet season
They tell me it goes through to Mae Chaem which is all I wanted to hear
Finally it looks like civilisation ahead
The track gets very rocky and steep then it becomes single track and one that I hope I don't have to ride back up.
The GPS cuts out again but its the bikes possibly dying battery to blame and its about 400 metres back up this shitty track to recover the lost data
I guess that's my track down there, now to ride to it
From the top of the hill looking back at Tung Kae
I ride into Mae Long and here fuel is available, then I turn around as I want to explore southwards
The local Thai guide I have met before in Mae Sariang with Wolfgang who was here last month
Loads of BMWs ride through, they are scouting for a GS Trophy group ride of 125 riders in two weeks time
Mae Long in the distance
I find this small snake along the track
The church on the hill that I keep on hearing about
Further along and Christian's bike decides to break its chain.
He plans on getting a passing truck to get him back to Me La Noi, there is no bike shop up here to turn to for help.
Sods law strikes again, its a solo ride now for this trip
Some water flowing here but everywhere is so dry and dusty up around here
We get an early start and make good progress
