OK using the baby bottle is a great idea to carry around 2T oil, however depending on which bottle you got means having to do some arithmetic at the pump when filling up and if your anything like me I probably calculate/subtract the wrong amount or you end up guessing a little. The contents go up in 25ml increments on the side of the bottle, my ml/per litre is 16.66 so you can see how confusing things become if you put say 3 litres in - 3x16.66 then subtract from 175 :bash Here's the solution:

Ill use the baby bottle I have as an example. I am currently using a 1:60 ratio premix which equates to 16.66ml per litre of fuel. You can use this online calculator at this link http://www.csgnetwork.com/oilfuelcalc.html to figure out your ml/ltr for the calculation

Now measure the full-scale of your babies bottle with a measuring tape. Here's my calculation:

250ml = 120mm

1ml = 0.48mm

16.66ml = 7.997mm

So i used 8mm per litre for simplicity when marking the bottle.
Now mark the amount of litres from the top down with your measuring tape/ruler in 8mm increments with a permanent marker. All you have to do now is note the amount of litres you just put in at the pump and use the litre scale on side of the baby bottle accordingly.

Ive actually modified the scale further and added another litre on top and marked it as "0" to avoid miss counting by one litre. Im also going to burn the increments with a soldering iron incase the permanent marker fades.
Im not sure how often folk change there pre-mix ratios but you could actually include additional scales around the bottle, remember though to mark each scale with the correct ratio.

And below is the finished product. No more head scratching for me at the pump :bash

Looks like a nice job John but what did you use for the markings?

LiL found that with some oil residue and wrapped in cloth with vibration and movement while riding removed it from his.

Kin hell Johnny thats all very complicated.

Just add 15 mls of oil per litre of fuel (66:1) surely thats possible to calculate at the pump?

That permanant marker will last a day or two once Motorex gets to it and you'll be back where you started.

Just used a permanent marker, but as mentioned im going to burn the increments with a soldering iron. Just need to be careful not to spill any. I filled the teat with sealant ooooooh!

Its nae that complicated to mark it oot. What if yer using 50:1 or 40:1 etc? actually 40:1 would be a good ratio if you used the type of baby bottle I have as it works out at 25ml/litre.
Even 15ml you end up guessing a little with regards to the original scale I have on the bottle.

Most small local Thai bike shops have 2-T oil in small bottles. I've got some castor oil in these bottles and they have graduations up to 60ml molded into the bottle. So it would be fairly easy to decant your favourite brew into such a bottle and one would be good for say 4l. Need more carry more bottles, they are not large.

I have done the same with scratchings on the side of a baby bottle for my 32:1 on non synthetic.

Will probably make another one for 50:1 tho thats fairly easy to calc.

The trip out after thinking i was smart marking a bottle with perm marker to find the markings had all vanished was a real DOH moment.
