Distance 223 km
A nice sunny day and a bit cooler as I ride away from town
Along the 3005
Along the 1252 and coffee trees growing here
At a little pull in where I have often stopped over the years and concrete is being put up, at first I thought they were only doing work here but upon seeing these floor planks I walked a bit further
A shelter and view point is being built there, I cant be bothered to walk down there today, I will go next time I pass this way and then it will be finished
The twisty 1252
Another shelter a bit further on was ideal for my lunch break
I take a road that was showing as unpaved but its now been fully paved and has some good photo opportunities
At the reservoir I notice these houses but most of them are empty and the doors are rotting, a couple of them look like the labourers here are living in them..
I wonder what and who they were originally built for
The water level is reasonably high
I ride to the end of the paved surface and this track goes off but I dont have time today to go exploring
A track that I mapped on my KLX 250 a few years ago was unpaved back then but now its fully paved
This rice field is being cut by hand
A few hundred metres away its being cut mechanically
I ride back through the Chae Son NP
Now for a few water crossings on the road that goes over the mountain and back to Chiang Mai
This water wheel is at the top
I didnt realise it was 1500 metres high until I looked at the GPS, no wonder its feeling decidedly chilly mid afternoon
Now at the Mae Kampong Waterfall
At Thapae gate
Chicken Karahi and rice at Mama's Kitchen 140 Baht
Beef meatballs, this is a new product they are making and it was a freebie for me to try
