Underway and still no rain, Jim getting off the green stuff and back on the black stuff

Half way, no major drama's, arriving that the cool coffee shop with the 400,000 bht cappuccino machine

Darryl's Suzuki DRZ 400 SM with new Pirelli Diablo rain track tires (not MT 60 SR's) - He gets about 3-4 rides to Pai out of them

The profile of the rear isn't working, he says you cant use all of the edge / side wall on this rim & wouldn't get them again

A bit concerned about overwhelming them in Pai with 16 people wanting food immediately, we settled on the bakery that's bursting with flowers

One bike out of fuel on the way back, Darryl more prepared than most of us, even had a siphoning hose

What was more shocking was how "professional" Mr. H was with the siphoning procedure

He said it was the first time he'd done it in daylight

No rain either way, great roads, everyone had a blast. There was some talk of what would be the fastest bike for the ride to Pai, the general consensus was that a KTM 690 SM would be untouchable because of there's several long straights.

Glad the weather held up for it.

Those sticky track wets wouldn`t tolerate too much of that dry road stuff?
They`re usually only good for a few heat cycles before they go off.
I only ever used dedicated wets a few times but they squirmed like hell on a dry track.

I cant imagine any of us, especially on a light DRZ, are putting enough heat into those on the dusty potholed roads, to over cook them. Despite Darrels objections, he sure could use them !!

Those MT60s are just superb.. Shame they dont come in a DRZ size. The search continues.

It was good day, thanks for lending me the KTM 990 Phil, I wont forget trying to stop that from running into the back of LivinLOS DRZ in a hurry after carrying a wee bit too much speed along the straight! A beast of a bike for sure.

Also thanks to LivinLOS and Darryl for syphoning the fuel when I ran out. I didn't even notice the fuel warning light too busy trying to have fun.
