The GPS is fixed onto the MSX and its off along the country lanes that I prefer to ride on
Its a lovely sunny morning but the temperature is only 20C and the air is a lot colder then is normal for this time of year
Interesting name for the kennels
The dogs seemed cheerful enough though
A lot of thatched roofs around this area so I guess its a renewal taking place here, with all the rain we have been having lately they need to hurry up and get it finished
A very green algae covered pond in this village
I guess he feels a lot warmer cutting his hedge then I do riding the bike
Even the horse must be feeling the cold
Never seen so many people with metal detectors in a field before, perhaps something of interest was found around these parts
Through this field in the small village of Ashe lies the origin of the Test

Perhaps this is for trips along it when its flowing
I am now standing on the bed of the dried up test
Looking down river and its been a while since anything flowed along from the pond.
I chatted with the farmer who owns the land, he said there are lots of springs in this area that feed it but most have dried up now
Less than a mile downriver and there is a flow
I know a track that goes to the river between here and the source so its time to get the tyres on the MSX a bit muddy
Whether the MSX would go through that is not something I intend to find out as I don't want wet muddy boots if it gets stuck
Time for a short walk
The river has no flow here either
Back up the road a short way and I locate another source of water that is giving the Test its flow
1.5 miles downstream and its a much stronger flow
2 miles further and its deeper and wider
Fun as these narrow back roads are there are always a few large farm vehicles about this time of year
Now to get home for food
Delicious crackling
Gotta have a roast on a sunday
Covered in gravy
